Always relying on past Glory to get ahead is like depending on a past delicious meal you prepared when you are hungry.
Can a past meal feed you? Can the memory of it help you when you’re hungry?
Can you think of the satisfaction of the (past) meal and be just fine? I highly doubt that.
That’s the same reason you probably shouldn’t bank on the Glory of the past but rather strive to do more and more than you’d ever done before.
Paul (in the Bible) speaking to his people (in Philippians 3:13), talked about ONE very important thing he does;
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
In order to succeed, one of the most important things to do is not to rest on past glory (or even past failures), every success should drive you to achieve more, there’s more waiting for you if you stay hungry.
Some people authored a book 20 years ago and that’s what they’re still using to brag and identify themselves today.
There’s so much lodged within you for you to be living in the past, there’s so many problems around you for you to be comfortable in what you’ve done, seek out new ways you can help people, seek out what you can do to foster your purpose in life, as long as you are alive, there’s still so much for you to do.
Don’t stay idle living in the land of the “Reminiscent“.
A farmer plants new crops every season irrespective of the success of the last harvest, for he is aware that seed time and harvest time will forever remain, and those who enjoy harvest are the ones who actually plant.
Wake Up TODAY & plant the seeds you need to plant to make the world you need to make.
Grace & Peace.
