License to procrastinate.

Procrastination is the inadvertent child of perfection.

Don’t even use this as an excuse, this is definitely not a license to procrastinate.

I belong to the ancient tribe of procrastinators, so if in this post you feel this is a jab at you, know that I am equally as jabbed.

A lot of times, “perfectionists” (in quote because this could mean so many things.) tend to push things aside because they’re constantly working to “improve” their idea, project or task. There’s always something else that can be done to better it. At the end of the day, it might never even see the light of day, because it will be in a constant state of editing, revamping, structuring, and “perfecting”. Call it what you will, but it’s still plain ol’ procrastination.

And for all the procrastinators that will probably want to hide behind being “perfectionists” (after reading this), know this… No matter what your reason is for procrastinating, procrastination remains procrastination… The art of putting something you’re meant to do off with the “hope, wish or desire” to do it “sometime” in future (which may never come).

So whether it’s laziness that birthed your own version of procrastination or its perfectionism… Just be aware that life is being wasted with every passing (unproductive) day. Your life, my life, the valuable lives of chronic procrastinators. Let’s join hands and end the destruction of our destinies. Change begins with you (getting off your fanny and actually deciding to JUST DO IT)!

Procrastinators unite…tomorrow.
